This article introduces the PMI-PBA exam preparation books that I used to pass the PMI-PBA exam. Highly recommended for PMI-PBA certification aspirants, considering I passed the PMI-PBA exam from my first attempt.

THE PMI GUIDE TO BUSINESS ANALYSIS GUIDE. 1^ST EDITION BY PMI

The Standard for Business Analysis – First Edition is a new PMI foundational standard, developed as a basis for business analysis for portfolio, program, and project management. This standard illustrates how project management processes and business analysis processes are complementary activities, where the primary focus of project management processes is the project and the primary focus of business analysis processes is the product. This is a process-based standard, aligned with A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Sixth Edition, and to be used as a standard framework contributing to the business analysis body of knowledge.

My learning experience with this guide

This book definitely helped me to understand the topics in PMI-PBA® as well as form a mental picture of the business analysis processes and knowledge areas. In total, I spent about four weeks reading this study guide and making my notes, about one hour a weekday and four hours on weekend days. Keep in mind that this is the first reference for the PMI-PBA exam preparation as recommended by PMI.
